I have nearly 400Xp more, a higher level and I am on it every day and she's not even really using it. I'm am averaging about 2hours 30mims every day! She has done 2 hours in 5days! My fluency score is 1% and hers is 8%? I don't get it. Anybody have any ideas why? Thank you

The fluency score is completely unreliable, just ignore it.

Totally unreliable.

I have finished my French to English tree. It is gold, and I have kept it gold for about two weeks now.

According to the fluency thing I am 8% fluent in English.

Aside from being a poor indicator of really anything, the shields are not in any way consistent between language courses and trying to compare the score from one to another is even more futile than using the score as a mark of your own proficiency level.

I also have some misgivings about the fluency score. I have completed the French tree and barely started the Spanish tree, yet my Spanish fluency score is higher.

Probably most of your practice is on the app. Try some sessions on the web and see if it helps.

Ignore the fluency score. One person posted that he got to level 25 in the Spanish tree and was 5% fluent.

From what I've seen (but I haven't used a phone app version for months) the website/PC version is much better.

In the words of Wolfgang Pauli, the fluency score "is not even wrong" That is to say, it is so totally unreliable and unrelated to anything useful that it doesn't even make sense to talk about whether it is right or wrong. Just ignore it.

Or to quote him more exactly, this site being what it is, "Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!"

And yeah, this is a good example of that because I'm not even sure what the fluency score number is even supposed to represent in the first place, let alone how accurately it represents it.

I think the max. possible fluency is limited by how many words you've learned so far (your progress in the tree)

The percentage is than modified based on how many errors you've made recently.

That is at least my guess, based on what I've noticed so far. At one point the speech recognition would always say that I was pronouncing the same sentence wrong (about 3 times with 4 repetitions each -> total of 12 errors) my fluency dropped massively after that one exercise.

In my opinion the fluency algorith is implemented rather badly, I would not pay too much attention to it.

My son and I are both learning French and we are both on about the same score and have been progressing about the same speed. He has got 49% fluency score and I have a 9% score. I don't think that part of the website is working, so i just ignore it.

I wish I knew what this fluency score actually means, I have been studying French for a few months here and have not finished the tree. It does say I have learned 2496 words, if that means anything. I am in the middle of the Science section. I just finished a group of questions and was scored at 66%! I have been above 60% since level 11. This is confusing to me as I make a mistake or two in every group I go through! Some groups seem easier and I go through them quickly without making any mistakes. In the beginning, I would make a lot of mistakes and would have to search on the internet to understand what I was doing wrong as well as study my grammar books and the discussions and tips and notes for understanding. Needless to say, I do not feel 66% fluent! I am however, understanding more and more of it and sometimes have finished typing the translation before the voice finishes saying it. I can also understand the robo-voice dictation exercises more and more as well. I do log each and every error I make and then study it and the grammar associated with it. If I finish the tree will I get close to 100%? Or do I have to go through it a few times? I have repeated a few of the lessons to refresh my memory. Even then I still do not feel 66% fluent, or even fluent at all!
