Locked Lessons-Italian Subj. Imp.

Subj. Imp. is locked for my Italian tree, I have cleared all browser cached info and retried the Subj Per. to unlock it and it still wont unlock. Business is unlocked and I completed two of the Subj. Imp. prior to it locking.

Is Business finished?

If not, it's probably because you're in the group of users for which the "ltr_skill_order_experiment" (ltr= Left to Right) A/B test is running.
And you thus have to complete Business to access (back) Subj. Imp..

Update: {@style=color:purple;text-decoration:underline;}Duo is stopping (for the moment) this A/B test.
But they may put it back (not sure what Luis meant exactly in his second message there) once fixed the part that was making a lost of already done lessons/skills.

Same problem with Polish Numbers. It appears as blocked, even if I actually already finished it!

Because you hadn't finish all the skills on the left on this one (and that, apparently, you're in the group of this A/B test that has to do the skill from left to right)

Great, that test costed me two hours of work, and is going to force me to go trough one of the dullest skills again.

I'm experiencing the same thing in all my trees. Lessons that were in the same row are now locked for me except for one.

It's an A/B test.

Doesn't anyone read these posts? This is about the 6th post on this subject in less than 30 minutes.

I don't like the change, how can I give feedback on the test?

January 14, 2016

You can't. It's the principle of an A/B test: look on how things are really/effectively going/perform, how the behaviour of users change and not what is their feeling about if it's good or bad for them.

Alright, makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know, it's a little hard to find posts in the Duolingo system. Either that or I'm too impatient to sift through.

Anyways, it's gone for me now.

I don't know, it's a little hard to find posts in the Duolingo system.

You can use logical connectors (AND and OR), quotes (""), parentesis (()) and minus sign (-) to make a precise search.
Like any decent search-engine (for example to search on the web: Google is one example). And those ones have in general even more things.

Example:

(Duolingo OR ("je mange" AND maison)) AND -(enfant)

will return all the discussion that don't contains enfant and at the same time:

  • EITHER contain Duolingo
  • OR contain both "je mange" (in this order with nothing in between) and also maison

Note: OR is facultative thus this search is the same as

(Duolingo ("je mange" AND maison)) AND -(enfant)

Anyways, it's gone for me now.

Yes, see a comment above starting with "Update".

I'm still encountering a problem like this one. Subj Per in Italian is locking me out.

This doesn't address my issue. That merely explains how Duolingo is SUPPOSED to work when it's working correctly. It my case, it has stopped working correctly.

Oh, sorry about that. You'd be surprised how many folks say "I'm locked out!" and then when they read that article they say "Oh, yeah, I forgot to do all the lessons in XYZ skill."

In that case, I would try using Duolingo from another computer OR another browser OR delete your history/cache. It could be that your browser has gotten some info scrambled in its memory.

If that doesn't help, then take a screenshot or screenshots and submit a bug report: https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204728264-How-do-I-report-a-bug-

I had the same error with Subj Pres. I completed all the italian tree till this unit, but the problem persisted. What I did was to take the test and unlock the entire unit for Subj Pres. Still, I see that I'm unable to access the 1st lesson but I can do any other lessons of Subj Pres. Also I tried to do the lesson on the mobile version of Duolingo and it seems to work.

My suggestion would be to try the mobile version OR give it a try and unlock the whole unit just to be able to move forward and come back and redo this topic if you feel like to.

I have tried the mobile version with no luck. Since this is exactly the same problem I'm having, could you please clarify how you unlocked the unit? I cannot access any of the Subj Pres lessons or advance beyond that one locked unit.

I took the test for this unit. The option on the right side of the screen that says "Test out". The test is a bit tricky since you don't follow the lessons first but I think is manageable if you do some research on subjunctive tense before. Good luck!

Molto grazie; that did the trick.
