Italian accent (voice)
What regional accent or what region speaks like the voice of the speaker in the lessons? and in google translate...
The Italian voice is rather bad. Anyway, I guess the accent is from Rome or Florence, since they are like the most-standard accents. It's the same accent as in my Italian books' audios, I don't know which of them they are.
Ah, good question. I haven't taken the Italian, so, i don't know. I know for English, the computer generated voice is aweful. So, I don't know if it would be a reliable source to learn accents from. If you are hoping to learn the accent of a specific region, you might be able to find a pronunciation tutorial on Youtube. Otherwise, you could move this post to the Italian language discussion forum by following these steps:
Click "Duolingo" in the editing window (it is a drop-down menu)
Select "Italian" from the menu
Save your post. (this moves it to that forum.)
To find that forum in the future, go to the main Discussion page (aka General Discussion) and look to the right. You'll either see it under Sections, or you'll need to scroll down until you see miniature flags.
Good luck! ^_^
I've heard that the Italian voice is the worst on Duolingo. I've never heard it myself, but that's the general consensus.
