I understood 'Lubi dzieci' = he/she likes children i cannot hear the difference between 'Lubie;' I like and 'Lubie' he/she likes

The staff has been asked to update the audio for this sentence, we agree that the female audio does sound more like "lubi".

Oh man, I've been trying to understand why you would sometimes pronounce lubię "loob yeh" and sometimes "loo bee"

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Jellei

I mean, unless it's an audio problem, then the first one sounds like "lubię" (I like") and the latter like "lubi" (he/she/it likes).

I think 'love' should be acceptable ?

No, "love" is a completely different verb.

Shouldn't I like babies be "Lubię dzidziusie" ?

There was a mixup of answers between this course and the "English for Polish speakers" course (they are interconnected), the English sentence to translate will be "We like children" again, not "babies".

Yes, I'd consider "dzidziusie" to be a correct translation of "babies", although it's rather a childish word in my opinion. "niemowlęta" would probably be the best translation.
