Iranian sanctions lifted, Persian on the rise?
Apparently, the international sanctions against Iran have been lifted. The chances are that Iran will become a strong economical player in the Middle East. I believe that as a result, the demand for Persian/Farsi speakers will increase. What do you think?
Are we going to see EN<->FA Duolingo courses? The userbase will be there, the language has 60 million native speakers, or about as much as there are Turkish speakers.
I know I'd be interested.
EDIT: If you're interested too, check out this article, and give it an upvote!
It could happen I mean there are still a lot of languages being requested off Duolingo Afrikaans for example
USA have made it difficult for Dual nationalities or people who have travelled to Iran in last 3 years to get a VISA now to USA. GGGRRRRRR.
I am getting married in May in Vegas why have they added Iran!!! :(
They lift the sactions but then increase the difficulty of a VISA. Stupid.
I would love to learn FARSI though!!
As Farsi uses nearly the same script as Arabic and there are no Arabic courses supposedly due to technical problems I don't see Farsi coming anytime soon. But, hey, why not. Would be nice.
Yeah, I thought about that.
But Luis Von Ahn recently said that he hoped Arabic for English would be on Duolingo before the end of the year, so there is hope. :-)
