how to be inspired to learn french?

Hi,I'm spanish,I'm learning (in school) english and now also french. I like english and i'm always inspired to learn it. But there's a problem with french, when it finished the primary school (six to twelve) the teachers determined if the students had to step up their english or learn english and french at time, well,i got a A in english of primary so i'm going to french classes. Sorry, french people, but i don't like it, i really dont like it. I hate the french teacher and she hates me. But i can't change (cause french is optional FOR PEOPLE WITH BAD QUALIFICATIONS) sooo i have to learn it,and i cant learn a lenguage without inspiration in it

The best boost that someone can take for learning a language (in my opinion) is to first hear it, and observe how the French people's behavior is different from English and Spanish people.

So, I'd say "Go and watch a French movie or listen to a bunch of songs before studying" . That will make you love the language and get invested into learning it (not to mention, slightly more confident in your progress).

Cool, something we have in common. I listened to Stromae before I even knew what he was talking about, seems kind of weird looking back now :)

Bonjour Carlos, Sorry to hear that you have the wrong impression about French. (always capitalize languages, nationalities and countries) because I am French and I love Spanish. I was born in Maine, near Canada and grew up speaking French and English. I studied Spanish for two courses and loved it. So beautiful and the songs and dances are the best! My mother moved to CA and the lady next door only spoke Spanish so my mother learned to speak Spanish in 6 months. Really, they are that close. she was amazed at 70 years old!! There are always teachers we don't care for so make it a challenge to not let anyone stand in your way. They will be gone forever soon.
Listen to some of the wonderful French music on Youtube. Watch some French movies. PS I am a retired English teacher. Surprise.. As child, I was teased and called name s because no one could pronounce my name and they said I ate frogs!! My grandparents never learned English and this is still true with new citizens. The top world languages are: 1. Chinese, 2. Spanish, 3 English French. Just knowing 2 or 3 will take you anywhere in the world. I also speak Chinese! Have a great day. Votre ami, Nide pengyou, tu amigo (all mean your friend, I think) Jane

I'm sorry you're being forced to learn. That doesn't sound fun. And it's even worse that you don't like your teacher.

Good luck!

Okay, I have some ideas...

  • You could try talking to some people on Duolingo who are from France or Quebec.
  • Start a little French study group with some friends and learn French together!
  • Like adrian2255 said, watch a French movie, or listen to French radio.
  • Try to have fun. Believe me, I know it's hard, but it's worth it.
