Hey everyone! Do you like immersion? If you do, great news! Duobot can tell you the translation to a sentence. So if you translate a sentence, you can check your work.

Duobot is pretty awful when it comes to comprehensibility. It's marginally useful to look at a word or two, but for long sentences it's a mess.

I would recommend instead using wordreference.com to check specific words you don't understand. It's a good resource also for alternate meanings for words. Many sentences don't use the most basic, first translation of a word but another usage.

Also, translation engines seem to get the words more or less correct, but connect them incorrectly. You can't trust them for the grammar of the sentence.

Duobot is the copied translator from Google Translator. I translated many phrases in both translators and I saw they were the same translation.

Duobot is a useful tool, however, from what I've seen, it's only about as good as google translate :/

In fact, it seems to be powered by Google Translate.

Hasn't this always been the case? Duobot has certainly been there ever since I first tried immersion.

Besides, Duobot is not good at all at longer, more complex sentences. I don't think one should use it to translate anything one couldn't otherwise translate oneself knowing only the meanings of the words.

It's very good and useful! But if it powered by Google Translate, I must say it sometimes can't give the favorable result! (Just sometimes) ^_^

Another important point is that most Immersion users consider the uncritical use of Google Translate/the Duobot as grounds for down-voting. If you must use those services, don't just copy and paste - check the translation carefully and make sure it makes sense and appears to accurately capture the meaning of the original.

Duobot is helpful, but every once in a while it's wrong and I have to say, "no, it's wrong" and fix it.
