I think I'm forgetting my own idiom
Yesterday I went to hunt with my dad and in some point we splited up, he went one way and I went the another so we could cover more floor, after some minutes going I saw a lot of deers and wolfes and than I run back to say to my dad but it gave me a blank I couldn't remember how to say "deer" in Portuguese, I totally forgot and my dad, that don't speak english, make a lot of effort to try to understand me!!!
Today on 'things that never happened'! LOL !! Dafuq did I just read, I got sick reading this, man that was so terrible I think you gave me cancer, infuckingcredible! Look at the title!
I'll just leave this here though, for future references:
- Split past = Split
- Deer past = Deer
- Run past = Ran
- Wolf past = Wolves (btw, where the hell have you been hunting? Clearly not in South America!)
.... OMG, this is so wrong, in so many levels, that I feel compelled to rewrite it all over again just for the sake of good grammar!
Yesterday I went hunting with my Dad and at some point we split up, he went one way and I went the other so that we could cover more ground. After a few minutes of walking I spotted a lot of deer and wolves and then I ran back to tell my Dad, the only problem was I drew a blank and I couldn’t remember how to say “deer” in Portuguese, I totally forgot and my Dad, who doesn’t speak English, had a hard time trying to understand me!!!
There you go
First off, You don't need to insult him to fix his grammar, he's learned man come on If you wanna fix someone go ahead, but do it gently like "Given how there're some mistakes in your text, I'll point them out to help you out" or "I'll fix your mistakes to help you out" See? That's not a big deal. You've got to boost him not to patronize him. This is a forum for people who just started to learn their target languages,It means that there's a myriad of tyros on the forum. So easy man easy and spark their motivations to.Btw I drew a blank
haha, sorry man, I usually try to be gentle but on this ocasion I couldnt help...the grammar mistakes plus the unfuckbelievable story...
I'm assuming English is your first language? Well, maybe it's more difficult for us, non-native speakers. Why dont you teach us? As they say, with great power comes great responsibility !
By the way, nice profile you have! Very welcoming!
English is not my native language and, between you and me, here in Brazil, with great power actually comes a great electricity bill
Eu acho que você queria dizer language e não idiom.
"Idiom" não tem sentido nesse caso.
It doesn't mean you are forgetting your own language, that might happen to some people sometimes, though.
Some words just slip our minds but I think you're making up this story, aren't you?
I think that's normal. Sometimes I also forget how to speak some words in portuguese, and I feel so glad and so awkward in the same time… That's funny
