Now, that's funny. I entered as my answer, "I'm sure that I will find my keys somewhere."

Duo said that's not correct. The answer is: " I'm sure that I will find my keys somewhere. "

I always knew that owl hated me!

That’s the other somewhere. :-)

La vorto "ŝlosilojn" estas ne facile memori.

ŝlosi (lock) + ilo (tool)

el la germana vorto schluessel (key)

but for the time being, I am locked out of my car...oh, wait! there they are! inside the car...

Can 'ie' appear at the end like it does in English?

Mi pensas, ke jes.

Mi pensas ke ŝlosilo estas el la germano vorto schlussel.

You'll find them in the last place you look.

Because you'll stop looking :D

I keep looking even after I find them. You never can be too sure.

"I am certain that I am going to find my keys somewhere" I think this should be a valid answer

What's wrong with "I'm certain?'

A developer missed an opportunity. The definition of certa is both, certain and sure. Although the PIV is law, it's not for beginners. You have to already know the Esperanto word you are looking for, and be able to read the definition. But for those who don't know or can't read it completely yet, or prefer a better dictionary Tujavortaro.net is a 12 language 2-way Esperanto dictionary. It is better than PIV online in every way, unless you only speak Esperanto.

The fact that I left out "somewhere" should not make my answer wrong. It is still a complete sentence in its self.

But you have to translate the sentence anyway. Your answer would be valid if the sentence they give us was something like "Mi certas, ke mi trovos miajn sxlogilojn."
