Why doesn't 'braf' mutate after 'yn'?

as it says in the tips: Note - the word braf resists mutation

"mae'r tywydd yn iawn heddiw" --> does this sound totally wrong?

yep, i've never heard anyone say this. As a welsh speaker the answer should just be; Mae hi'n braf heddiw.
