From the latest blog post : "Android users, we have heard your cries! We have a small team, and it takes a lot of work to make the Duolingo experience excellent on each mobile platform. We are working on the Android version, but it will not be ready until next year. In the meantime, we will continue making the web version better for Android devices."

Does that mean it should be available in 2013 sometime?

I think I read that they are aiming to release in May.

+1 for android. I'd even pay for the app, it's the best out there.

I know that Duolingo is free, and I love that about it, but I would absolutely pay for the convenience of having a mobile version on my Android devices!

I ironically have a decent Android tablet for working on, but don't have a microphone for my computer. I don't intend on getting a piece of hardware for one purpose (as I've never needed a microphone on my desktop). Furthermore, getting Flash plugin to work let alone behave well in web browsers on a mobile device is a real pain. Hence, the only way to capture audio input is on my tablet, which has a microphone, and...you get the picture.

I would most definitely pay for an Android app.

Definitely need an android version, been looking into buying apple products to be able to use duolingo on the go on my daily commutes. But it's just a bit too expensive. Duolingo on android would be so cool!

Has there been any more recent information or news about Duolingo on the Android? All I can find is what Scott posted from the blog. An update on the progress would be great.

They recently posted on the Duolingo subreddit. It's scheduled for May, so it's only a month away.
