The voice track makes the last word sound more like "straat" than "strand".

Why not "along the strand." Is that not the very part of the beach upon which one walks? Strand = a flat, sandy stretch of beach.

Maybe our variety of English is atypical, but at in my region, 'strand' would be the preferred word to go with 'walks along' in reference to a beach. "Walks along the beach" is a tad stilted to my ear.
