New Language Suggestions

(NOTE: These are all my opinions. Nobody has to agree with me.)

Duolingo has the incubator and all that, and I understand that it takes good contributors who actually work and a lot of time to build the course up to become stable. And I understand that it is hard work, and that there are also courses like "Dutch for French speakers" or "Russian for Arabic speakers."

But I was thinking, what if we had a couple of other languages, such as Finnish, Afrikaans, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and maybe others? Duolingo would be a much more fantastic place, as it is already.

If any of you are contributing to a course/wanting to contribute to a course, PLEASE apply. It would mean a lot to me and many others.

Got any language suggestions? Tell me below, and maybe we can try to find contributors for the language.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes. Thanks for taking your time to see this post! :) ♥ ♥

The languages you mentioned are already in the top list of requested ones by the community. And I'm sure they all have had people applying before. Nevertheless, a course can only start being developed once Duolingo allows the team to do so. Therefore all we can do is wait and hope that they will start each of those courses ;)

Ohhh, thanks for telling me that. I wish Duolingo would allow them to already, because I really do like learning new things, and some of these languages are incredibly easy. It just really makes me wonder though, as to why they have shown Klingon in the incubator but not Finnish, but then again, it would be cool knowing a fictional language. I'm sorry, I just started rambling XD. I do that a lot. But really, thanks for the info

Oh and for the languages, I think that they should add Thai, Hindi, Hawaiian, and Vietnamese.

Good ideas. I'd use Memrise for those, but Memrise is more of that kind of website that makes your vocab better.

I agree too. I'm not fluent in any languages except for English right now, but once I get there, I can't wait to build my own course :)

Me too! I've wanted to be a native speaker of one of the languages I was talking about, but then again, English is insanely hard for some of those language speakers. But we can hope for new courses!
