Capitilisation of first letter
For a while the first letter of the first word in a sentence when translating from Italian to English (using the provided words) was capitalised. A dead give away and rather boring. Then the ante was upped and this feature was removed. The result was more challenging as there were no longer any visible clues. Sadly this has all changed around again. Am I the only one who finds this annoying?
I was very excited when they stopped using the capital letters, and disheartened to see them back again today. I had thought that it was a step in the right direction for the app, and that the many requests for the change had been listened to. I agree that it's less challenging now, so yes, I find it a bit sad. They must have their reasons, though. Maybe we'll hear.
They have always been capitalised for me, and I agree, it is annoying, it would be better if they weren't.
I noticed when they took away the capital letters.. but I have not noticed that they have come back. I mostly use the website and only use the phone app when I want to breeze thru a lesson.... I find the phone app much easier than the website precisely because they give you the words.. seems like cheating to use the app, on the website you need to type the words yourself and spell them somewhat correctly.
Thanks for that advice. I'll have to crank up my notebook and try that way. The website doesn't load exercises on my ipad.
Hmmm... I have never tried to go to the website from my iPad... I assumed it would work like it does on the computer... Oh.. and the capital letters are back on my iPad app as well.. checked it last night.
I found the best way to avoid this, and plus it helps you learn quicker, is to first ignore the word answer options they give you and just translate the sentence in your head. Once I've worked it out I then look at the answer options and put the right words in.
I noticed sometimes they capitalize the first letter and other times they do not. It is certainly harder when they don't and I preferred that.
