Where does 'Dan' come from? Haven't seen it anywhere in the lessons so far.

"Rydan ni" and "Rydyn ni" are both fomal ways of saying you "We are". Nowadays most people just say either "dan ni" or "dyn ni" so use whichever you're comfortable with and if you give one as an answer and it says you were wrong but does accept the other then you should report it.
