aimer bien Duo feedback
Several times now with multiple choice exercises, I have selected "J'aime" and "J'aime bien" as the two correct options. After submitting this answer, the screen has gone green and my answer declared correct, as I had expected. However, when I check this exercise in 'Review lesson', the screen has gone red and "J'aime" has always been marked as wrong. There is clearly a problem with the feedback being given. The problem only becomes apparent when checking answers via 'Review lesson' so I'm only able to report it by posting a comment here.
You have not given enough information. "J'aime bien" means "like" or "really like" to be more accurate.
"J'aime" means "like" when talking about something inanimate, but it means "love" when talking about people, so it depends on what the rest of the sentence was. "J'adore" means love when talking about something inanimate, because in French it is recognized that it is not the same kind of love.
So "J'aime bien" is a tad stronger than "J'aime" for things, but it is much less strong than "J'aime" for people.
The point is the inconsistency not whether the individual answer is correct or not. If the same answer is marked correct during the test and marked as wrong during the review then this is certainly a bug.
Epicure, I would post this in the troubleshooting forum if I was you. I rarely use the review feature but it should definitely work as you think it should.
Where is the 'Review lesson'? I don't think I've ever seen that feature. Would someone please tell me?
When you are strengthening your skills after the last question has been answered there will be a button on the bottom left which shows your answer and the correct answer. I wonder if the review feature has not been programmed to show more than one correct answer as there are in multiple choice sometimes?
I'm half way through the tree, and I can't believe I have never noticed that button. I think it's because it's always gray. It doesn't appear to have on the app version though. Thanks.
