Watch tons of shows with subtitles

I wanna tip about a site called Öppet arkiv where you can watch classic Swedish shows with swedish subtitles.

There is tons of shows to choose from, pretty much all of them have subtitles if you click on the big T in the video player.

For example

Pippi Longstocking episode 1-13 with swedish subtitles

or maybe some drama/thiller/criminal

Tusenbröder

Maybe youre interested in watching...

an interview with Olof Palme

an documentary about moose hunting

or maybe "We on Seacrow Island"

Edit

Thanks to annika_m I realized they can only be viewed in Sweden, just like I cant watch hulu.com. The only way to watch outside would be using a VPN or Smart DNS.

I suggest Smart DNS as you will not suffer any internet speed loss.

You can try SVT Play instead (kid shows), which contains recent and current shows running on SVT. Some shows can be seen outside sweden.

I've been watching shows on http://www.svtplay.se

You can add subtitles. Plus the kids shows are good for learning basics.

That's great, and you are outside Sweden? Öppet arkiv and svt play are both owned by Sveriges Television (SVT)

Jag är i Spanien och kan se en del av programmen. Normalt brukar ju det som är svenskproducerat fungera bra.

I'm in the US. There are some shows on there that do not play outside Sweden. But many do. And there is a button on the bottom that turns the subtitles on and off.

I just checked the Oppert arkiv and none of the shows listed in that sections seem to play outside Sweden :(.

I like 'Lilla Aktuellt'. Thank you for sharing. But how can you add subtitles?

Many of the shows have a T in the lower right corner (between the Volume and the Full screen buttons) when you click it it turns the subtitles on and off.

Unfortunately, I just checked that show and it doesn't seem to have the T. That's a shame.

Alternatively, the main news programmes e.g. Rapport, have versions with subtitles running throughout the whole programme.

Yup: "Det verkar som att du är utanför Sveriges gränser. Tyvärr har vi bara rätt att visa programmen i Sverige. Läs mer om våra geografiska begränsningar."

I've been watching Pippi Långstrump on YouTube before, but there are no subtitles for those who would like them, and the sound quality is a bit iffy.

You could try a proxy, like http://teleport.to/Sweden/ just copy and paste the link

VPN would be best but its a bit more advanced

True, that's a good idea! Jag har nog sett dem och kan låna de flesta på DVD i bibban vid behov, men jag tänkte bara kommentera så att andra som kanske inte förstår meddelandet fattar varför det inte funkar. :-)

Sadly I was aware after I posted this that it can only viewable from within Sweden. So the only way to watch outside would be using a VPN or Smart DNS.

I suggest Smart DNS as you will not suffer any internet speed loss.
