Translation of Dutch (Netherlands) Film
A few years ago, I watched the short film Pony Place at a film festival. Ever since then I've been looking for it online so I can share it with my family and friends. Recently I found the film on Vimeo but unfortunately it does not have English subtitles and I don't know anyone who could translate it for me. I have looked everywhere on the internet for a script or translated version with no success. Could someone who speaks Dutch translate this for me and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and send me the link?

I've made a script of the first two minutes of the video. It's a lot of work translating so I'd like to ask others to join in and continue translating. If everyone does 1 or 2 minutes, it's not so much work :D Above is the link to my Google Drive file. I've put settings on public so anyone can download and edit it. Feel free to edit my translation if you think it's incorrect or if you know a more accurate translation. I gave colours to the different characters so it's easier to follow with the video. I hope this helps!
Hallo Ginny and Isoldhe,
Wasn't able to edit the online document unfortunately, but here's as close as I could get to my minute of the translation!
2:11 Hello there! The horses are hungry! 2:22 (Market. Buy Food.) 2:39 (indistinct talking on the TV) 2:42 (music from game on iPad: melody snippet from Chopin's Funeral March, for the words, not included here, but popularly known as: "Pray for the dead and the dead will pray for you".) 2:57 Hello there! You have given the horses too little to eat. Black Beauty and Jolly Jumper are gone to horse heaven! 3:03 Oh... 3:05 What? 3:06 ... the horses are dead.
Woops XD forgot to change the settings. It's now on "anyone can edit". So everyone should now be able to edit it. Thank you for adding your minute of translation!
I added another few minutes up to 5 minutes! So we're now halfway :D It's actually a very funny video. I will continue translating a few more minutes in the next couple of days if I have the time.
The only thing I didn't catch is what the grandfather says at 3:26. Does anyone else understand what it is he says? (It's probably something mean about the horse XD)
If the script is complete than there are subtitle programs that you can use to add them to the video, but I wouldn't know which ones are good and how they work. So maybe somebody could do that after :)
Haha XD now I understand him too, he says it another time later in the video
I've downloaded the video and have a subtitle program I'll use once I get around to it. :)
It's done :D Faster than I thought.

If anyone sees any translation that needs to be adapted, please tell me. Then I will edit it before Ginny adds it to the video. I've never made subs for a movie before. It was fun and challenging!
It looks good, kudos :D!! Some things I noticed in the translation:
1.28 "to the sailing boat", I think she says "on the sailing boat" in Dutch. 3.26 maybe "poser" or "show-off" comes a little closer than "weirdo"? 5.24 and 9.08 "decease" should be "disease" (although Wikipedia says it's called African horse sickness in English, so you could also use that ;P) 9.05 "how" should be "what"
> I think she says "on the sailing boat"
And a more natural usage would probably be "Dad and mom say that the iPad can't come on the sailboat"
Thanks! That was a fun and interesting language learning project!
I guess, in all fairness, before if it gets to the point of actually adding the subtitles to the video and posting online, it would be best to communicate with the original video's copyright owner who seems to be Sandra Attema Welte at: https://vimeo.com/studiomagicbean
Did you manage to add the subs Ginny? If it is possible, I'd like to see the end product. I know someone who would want to see this video as well.
Hallo Ginny! Ik houd van het!
Wow, nice job! Really gave me a much better appreciation of the humor. Very funny!
Big kudos to Ginny, and to Isolde both, for getting it going and seeing it through to the finish! Bravo!
Hoi ginny wemel/weasley..
once i couldn't find subs for something not is dutch nor English.. But for some reason in Italian i did.. Then i just copy pasted the whole thing to Google translator.. Of course it was horrible, but i still understood what was going on..
Just an idea...
At 4:27 should it be 'my' instead of 'why'? Also at 7:20 I'm pretty sure she the grandma didn't want the blankets to get impregnated. Anyone know what that word should be? ;)
Hello Ginny! Thanks for the feedback. I will change the why to my, that sounds better. Impregnated is right. The Dutch word she says is 'geïmpregneerd", which could be directly translated to impregnated. However, since that word has another main meaning, maybe we could use something like "saturated".
