Is this related to sap, like Dutch saap and German Saft? http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?allowed_in_frame=0=sap PIE root *sab- "juice, fluid" (cognates: Sanskrit sabar- "sap, milk, nectar," Irish sug, Russian soku "sap," Lithuanian sakas "tree-gum"). http://welsh-dictionary.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html doesn't mention it.

I find sudd (with subscript 1, meaning "juice, sap, fluid") in GPC, derived from

IE. *seuə- ‘gwasgu (hylif) allan’

"Sudd" sounds an awful lot like "seethe". Is that why athletes get super angry when they juice up?
