Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Issues at the end of each lesson.

Quick question. For some reason, after I complete a lesson, duolingo freezes, does not collect my points, and takes me to the home page. I think it might have to do with my connection, but I'm not sure. It's been going on for a while now. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Or has in the past?

I go through the lesson and everything works fine. It's the very last state, when I complete the last task, it then "freezes" and takes me to the home page.

Any other feeback is welcome.

This happens to me almost every time I choose "test out" for different German skills. It's extremely frustrating.

Do you happen to have an IP blocker/generator installed on your computer? I figured out a program called Hotspotshield was the reason I was having issues.

I have this issue too. Usually in the last stage. It's very annoying and sometimes happens three times in a row. I have not installed any IP blocker/generator program and my internet connection is fine. By the way, I use Chrome, so maybe the solution is switching the browser or use the smartphone.

I occasionally have this problem, and I'm on cable internet. I'm decent with computer networking, but I've never used (or understood) a proxy. Unless a router for wireless networking and internet counts.

ETA: When it freezes for me, it's always when I hit "check" on the last frame of the lesson, and it just freezes. The only way to move from the page is to refresh, at which point it starts the lesson over.

Not that I couldn't benefit from repeating the idiom lesson, but I'd rather do it when I intend to, and still get the experience from the first time around.

For me using the mouse to click check button in stead of pressing Enter solved the problem. Try it for yourselves maybe it works

Something similar happens to me with 100% consistency. whenever I test out a german skill and I still have a couple lessons left, Duolingo does that (skips the last question going back to the main page without any message, reward or progress whatsoever). It's as if I've cancelled the test. Right after that though I can do the same test again and it does work.

Are you behind a proxy or an otherwise non-standard Internet connection (such as satellite)?

I believe it's a non-standard internet connection. I am a university student, so I need to log on to a university network before having internet access. Do you think that might be the problem? I'm not sure what a proxy is.

Does it sometimes work in that connection or never?

https://www.duolingo.com/pepe.loguz

It used to work just fine. Over the past few weeks, it has not been very consistent. I need to try at different times of the day for it to work normally. I've managed to keep my streak by trying at various times during the day. At some point, I will work, but I never know when. I haven't figured out what makes the difference. What I find interesting is that it runs normally throughout the whole lesson, but it is at the very end when it stops working. The last step freezes and takes me back to the home screen.

Hey Luis, I identified the issue. A few weeks ago, I installed a program called Hotspotshield (to watch TV shows outside of the USA). Even when it was "deactivated" it somehow messed with my internet connection. I uninstalled it 3 days ago and Duolingo is running smoothly and normally. I guess if other people run into a similar issue, we know what the problem might be.

By the way, congratulations on being Apples' App of the Year. Well deserved man. I highly respect your work.

This has happened to me several times over the last few days. Always when I am practicing, using "Strengthen skills". Kind of demotivating, not because of the XPs, but hate having to do the exercise several times.
