Den sämsta bok

Tried to find the discussion of the exact exercise, but did't find it. Sorry if the topic is misplaced. Found in the mobile version of Duolingo the phrase "Det är den sämsta bok jag vet". Could you tell me, why 'bok' here is in indefinite form?

First of all, it must have been "Det är den sämsta bok jag vet". Now to your question :). If there is a relative sub-clause that determines the noun, you don't need the double definiteness. More examples:

Det här är det vackraste huset - Det är det vackraste hus jag någonsin sett
Han är den snyggaste killen i skolan - Han är den snyggaste kille som gått i den här skolan

Yes, sorry, I got a typo, fixed it! And thank you for the clarification! But how does one know this from the course? :)

It is also probably mentioned in the lesson notes, which cannot be viewed on the mobile app version.

I looked through all of them, it seems. Well, "by asking" is an option too :)
