Very weird bug?

I was practicing Russian today, and decided to try to tackle a new skill, People 2. I was making great progress and had come to Lesson 3, when out of nowhere, something odd happened:

I didn't really think anything of it at first. Just a bit of text missing, no big deal, right?

But immediately on the next screen I saw this:

with no audio whatsoever. Even when I tried to use Ctrl+Space and Ctrl+Shift+Space, still nothing.

It was pretty inconvenient, and I obviously missed all of the audio clues for the rest of the lesson, but I was somehow able to persevere and conquer the rest. I thought, perhaps this is just an issue with that particular lesson, let me try another.

I began the next, and everything seemed to be going swimmingly until, just as suddenly as before (though further along in the lesson):

Screen after screen, the ever present 'You are correct' stood hovering. Confirming my mastery of one sentence, and mocking me every time I misstepped.

Nearly every screen was a new combination of everything that could go wrong. This was really starting to worry me. I didn't know if something was maybe just weird with the People 2 skill, so I stopped working on that and tried out Sport.

WHAT. THE. BLEEP. (this is a family site after all)

Thoroughly rattled, I decided to give Russian a break all together. Perhaps I had angered it and it needed a cooling down period. After all, who misses something as simple as 'a soccer ball'.

Aching from the rejection, I trudged over to my old friend German's loving embrace, and sure enough, those lessons ran just fine.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Is my relationship with Russian over? Or is this just a small hurdle that we can get past together?

(if it matters I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise, SP1, 64 bit, Google Chrome)

I havent experienced this but have experienced another angering bug. Here, have a lingot!

I had exactly the same problem a few days ago in some "English for Germans" lession (I think it was "Medicine"). Duolingo told me to write down what I hear, but there was no audio widget and thus no sound. The browser was Firefox, the problem went away when I switched over to Chrome.

That happened to me on my old account, but it was much worse. Every time I pulled up a site, it ALWAYS appeared with the "You are correct" sign at the bottom. I honestly didn't know what was happening, it felt like Duo was following me around everywhere I went... 'till one day it was TO FAR. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING BECAUSE THE STUPID CORRECTING SIGN WAS IN THE WAY. I had to deactivate my account and start ALL OVER AGAIN. I have never taken Russian on this account, it's to much of a risk.
