That's what we'd call "um reflexo condicionado de tipo pavloviano" (a Pavlovian-style conditioned reflex).

Accent issues regardless, both variants of Portuguese spell and speak the last syllable with a "b" sound, so our voice is being faulty everywhere (and that's specially grievous since "lodo" with a "d" is also a word in Portuguese, meaning mud, sludge).
