Surely 'J'habite avec mes parents' should be an alternate answer?

Yes, I think it should.

J'habite chez mes parents is accepted. Is there some rule that "habiter" requires a place and "chez mes parents" is considered such but "avec mes parents" is not...? Or just an oversight?

chez vs avec - is there any subtlety about their usage I must know? both are accepted it seems.

Why was "parentes" (one of the options besides "parents") marked incorrect?

"parentes" included but wrong... y'all don't have gay marriage in France?
