App now doing entire translations..

I noted a few days ago that I was getting sentences that were partially translated in the app. Today I got one that was entirely translated already.

What is the point of that? How much longer is the test going on and can we opt out of any future testing?

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? Thanks!

Here's an example from one of our Norwegian students:

Any more information might be helpful in tracking down the issue. Which sentences are partially translated? Are you talking about in a session, you'll be asked to translate a sentence into a language that is already that language? Can you tell me what platform you're using?

Can you tell me if the issues that I'm experiencing are a bug or an test? Almost all the sentences i get is to select the translation by clicking on cards with the words. I opened 2 posts about it and didn't get any feedback

Android app. It happens randomly in different languages. Sometimes they are partially translated with a couple of tiles left and occasionally they are fully translated with nothing to do but hit continue.

This is in lessons and strengthening exercises.

I don't know about the app; I use the website almost exclusively. But with regards to your last question, we can not opt out of testing. The ability to opt in/out of an A/B test would skew the results.

Do you know how long tests usually last?

Im not sure what they are testing exactly.. It's just plain stupid and unuseful..

Does it increase the amount of skills ppl do per day? Probably, because if before i needed 5-15 minutes per skill, now it takes 2 minutes.. Maybe they are testing how many angry messages will be open on the forum about it.. Well.. I added 2.

Apparently we need to send a bug report everytime we get it. Since duo doesn't believe in providing answers.

Meanwhile, the app gets bad reviews and people who are trying it for the first time just see these exercises and remove it never to try it again.

The point is, as always, to dumb down the app so that the spamming kids won't leave. If only the website was usable on mobile...

You mean you also get those questions where you need to put cards with words in order?

I thought it was a bug since last app update..

I have a feeling it is not a bug. The partial ones look intentional. Not sure why they are occasionally fully translated.

There are no cards. Just the sentence in the language followed by the sentence in English. That's it.
