"Are you going home after finishing" should be accepted

It's not, because you've unnecessarily re-ordered the sentence. Both "Ar ôl i ti orffen, wyt ti'n mynd adre?" and "Wyt ti'n mynd adre ar ôl i ti orffen?" are possible and natural in Welsh therefore the most acurate translation is the English sentence in the same order.
