This was a poem for Lrtward that you can find here: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/13580236

To Lrtward:

I know I speak for all when I say

That you have been a shining light ray

To all who come and go

On Duolingo.

You've left quite an impression

(It's hardly a question)

On countless people

Who you've strengthened and motivated

Over and over and over again.

We hope this has given you

Joy and a laugh

For whenever we think of Duolingo

We'll remember a tiny giraffe.

=

A Lrtward:

Please correct it if there are mistakes. Thanks!

As I sniff the air I smell a pear, so big and round and sweet, as I sniff the air and the pear so fair it makes me want to eat, as I want to eat I start to sing to thy majestic pear, so round and fat, and sweet, as I want to eat not smell my feet I want to seek that pear, as I look for that pear so fair and sweet and I REALLY want to eat!, as I search HIGH and low I see my foe, then I scarily say, "OH, NO!", my dog my foe my only NO!, smells something round and sweet , as I look around I see my hound searching for MY! TREAT!, at my hound I shot a scowl then ran in major retreat, he saw my plan and tracked me down also looking for something to eat, I found my pear, than hid in scare, I don't know what to do, I cause a distraction using my actions to lure away my hound, my whereabouts are known by my only foe and I decide to make a run, as I ran I tripped and slipped and dropped my beloved pear oh so round and fair!, my foe did know and he tiptoed to my beloved pear, I cried and screamed and kicked my limbs but my hound was trotting away so gay to eat my only treat, so I gathered my spirits and ran to my dearest but the time I was there was not so fair my hound and devoured my only pear- by Christina( I don't mind if you guys laugh at my poem writing skills! they are very bad!) ;D

Hello, there's a really tiny edit you could do: Consider changing “hablo para todos” to “hablo por todos.” Here's why: “Hablo para todos” is used to mean “I speak to everyone” as in “my message is directed to all” while “hablo por todos” means that what you're saying would represent “everyone's opinion”.

Your translation was still great, nice job! Your Spanish is really good, keep it up! (:

I would like if you were aware about these three little details:
  • Over and over and over again = Una y otra, y otra vez. Or “repetidamente (repeatedly)”, without “sobre otra vez”.

  • You could use Sería difícil cuestionarlo (Literally: It would be hard to question it) as a translation for “it's hardly a question". P.D: Your translation is NOT wrong, but it isn't the one you needed in this context.

  • One last thing: I totally get what you meant when you wrote “For whenever we think of...”, using “for” like that is common in English, unfortunately not in Spanish, I think you could whether drop para (Siempre que pensemos en Duolingo) or link the sentences with porque (....and a laugh, because whenever we think of”). I know it's not the same, which is a pity... But changes like these usually happen in translation :(
