Duolingo sells gear
I just discovered that Duolingo sells t-shirts, hoodies, and other paraphernalia with the Duolingo logo. When I get to level 25, I'll be sure to buy some these things; that's one way to thank them for their great work.
I want the green owl shirt.
$18... anybody know the exchange rate for lingots.
Probably much. I really want the hoodie, but it is quite pricey.
$34.95 or £24.26.
Is "Lento Rodriguez" a play on "Speedy Gonzales." LOL. :-)
No sabia que habian quitado a Speedy en esta red:
Que tonteria. Que pena!
Lento is Speedy's cousin and just like Speedy, I'm told he's is very popular in Latin America, he was in a few of the cartoons. His name in English is Slowpoke Rodriguez but that was too long for duolingo's 16 character name limit so I went with his name in Spanish speaking countries, Lento Rodriguez. I've read that in some places his name is Tranquilino.
He is the slowest mouse in all of Mexico but he is very smart and will outwit his enemies and he sometimes carries a big gun. I seem to remember Speedy being worried about him because he was slow but he could take care of himself.
That's so freaking funny. Ha ha ha. I grew up watching Speedy Gonzales, but never came across Lento Rodriguez. The things you learn on Duolingo. :-)
Since I owe you one, checkout this movie on another Rodriguez: "Searching for Sugarman"... But, don't google anything about it. If you do, you'll ruin the experience--a quite unique one.
FYI for anyone thinking of doing some shirt-shopping:
My green owl t-shirt arrived in the mail today! I paid for the cheapest shipping, and it took six days to get halfway across the U.S. to me from where it was shipped. It is very cute, although quite lightweight. If you are in between sizes, definitely order the larger size (at least, for women's sizes; I cannot speak as to the men's sizes).
That's great. That should help the polyglot's cause. You deserve a lingot for your efforts.
Polyglots Unite! :-)
Oooh, I have an idea! Maybe level 25s can get a discount? ;) However I do understand that they probably need to ship it all in and make enough to pay their staff and all.
They also sell pillows that are supposed to help you learn languages - they cost $99 each.
