My favorite contemporary french singer is Zaz. Check out her Youtube video "Paris sera toujours Paris". Movies--it all depends on your tastes. Try the French series "Les Revenants" (called "The Returned"--you can stream it on Netflix) if you like creepy, moody not-exactly horror stories. Or try the comedy "Je crois que je l'aime" if you want a contemporary comedy (you can stream it free on Amazon Prime).

lol i LOVE creepy, moody, horror stuff! and comedy (but who don't) and i just watched Zaz music video (my fav part is when she poke's the lady in the nose, the lady's just like "get away from me"). lol i love her music tho, it's cute and fun and she is really pretty lol :3 thx

For French films: The Intouchables, The 400 Blows, La Haine, Le Petit Prince, Pierrot Le Fou, Breathless...For French Music: Stromae's catalogue, Orelsan and also his collab duo Casseurs Flowter, Paradis (Garde Le Pour Toi), Lescop (Los Angeles), Dominique A (Au Revoir Mon Amour), Julien Doré (Paris, Seychelles), MC Solaar (Nouveau Western and Caroline), Noir Desir (Le vent nous portera), Jacques Dutronc, Serge Gainsbourg (Bonnie et Clyde) The best strategy is to go on iTunes and change the country to France or Belgium and see what is trending, new or explore!

awesome, i can't wait to look into these. :3 thanks

This film of course: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain. It's a French comedy film. And I listen to Stromae a lot. I haven't really searched for other films and music yet.

I strongly agree with you (Isoldhe). I would also add Tryo as a very good music artist, and a movie trilogy (coincidentally with the same actress than Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain) : 'L'auberge espagnole' (1), 'Les poupées russes' (2), et 'Casse-tête chinois' (3). It's an excellent trilogy I have discovered this week which is -according to me- a 'must' among the French movies! I hope you guys enjoy my recommendations! :D

Thanks for the tip. I will surely watch them.

One of the films on this site "Ne le dis a personne" is one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. Not overtly violent, but absolutely chilling. Very well done--even excellent. But only watch it if you can handle psychological horror.

I recently watched Rabbi Jacob and les tuches. Didn't understand a lot but they are funny to watch.

sound's awesome! :3 imma watch it tonight
