I think it is gerundial ("Fiilimsi") for a learner of Turkish.

  • Şiir okuyu çok etkileyici. (His reading a poem is very impressive.)

  • Bunu yapma işiyle sorumluyum. (I am responsible for doing this.) -me/-ma is usually negative suffix but here it is not. It is gerund. Sometimes it may be difficult to understand.

  • Güle oynaya koşuyordu. ("He was running happily.")

The -dik suffix. most other suffixes and grammar points, I had no problem. :)

I agree with you. The -dik suffix is my weak point as well. Even now, I don't exactly understand how to use it.

The thing I had the hardest time really wrapping my head around was -DIk and -(y)An and just how different participles are in Turkish :)
