How languages came to be - Duolingo Edition
For sure, many of you know the legend of the Tower of Babel and how languages came to be. What I want to do here is a game to create our own legend of the languages origin. Everyone will add about 1 maybe 2 sentences to the story in any language they want! Whatever languages you speak, no matter if they're actually used or not, choose one and write your part of the story in it. The next person will choose another language and will write their part in that language.
Some additional rules: -only languages you speak well enough to write your sentences. No Google Translate sentences!
-Variety is everything. It's boring if half the story is in one language. Try to use different ones. And if you really have to use a language that was already used there should at least be a bit of space in between your and the other part.
-Once someone continued the story come back again and edit a translation to English to your part of the story so not only people who speak 20 languages can read it. Shouldn't there be a reply for a long time (2 days maybe?) do that too. Maybe there is nobody who speaks this language and wants to participate.
-Try to keep it coming. The story shouldn't end too soon. It's easy to put an end somewhere but it's even easier to throw a twist in at the same place.
-If you can't reply to the last part of the story make a completely new comment and give it a number according to how many of these new comments we already have.
I hope we'll have fun doing this!
