Den Lille Prinsen

I've been looking for an online text of this book. There are a lot of translations of it out there. Has anyone seen a version of this book online? I was hoping to avoid buying it, but i think that's what its going to come down to. Its hard to search for because I end up with tons of danish and swedish versions...

Because it was written in 1943, it's not going to be in the public domain within the US, so there would be no legal way of getting it without a purchase at this time.

If you live outside of the US, your country may have different laws that may put it in the public domain, though.

Actually, in France, the public domain is 70 years I think, and St Exupéry died in 1944 so I guess it should be in the public domain by now.

French copyright law doesn't extend to the US, though. International copyright has been an issue an issue many times in the past, such as with Disney's continued usage of Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh.

He is looking for a translated version, he has to pay for that regardless of copyright status.
