Fantastic New Resource; Listening & Reading.

Hej allihopa,

Just thought I would share this absolutely wonderful supplementary resource for learning Swedish along side the brilliant duo course.

Radio Sweden have a new news program in easy Swedish that is only a few weeks old. It is primarily to facilitate the large number of refugees in learning Swedish but also for anyone else who finds the regular news too challenging.

Both the text and the spoken word are available on the programs website, and can be downloaded to your mobile, or computer for off-line listening. And on the website, the news items are also edited to provide the listener with digestible bite sized pieces of Swedish.

Now, it is not for absolute beginners but it has proved hugely helpful for me with regards to getting a better feel for the language, hearing the accent and expanding my vocabulary as well as keeping me up to date with Swedish current affairs and culture.

Practise listening and reading along with an episode for 5-10 minutes after your duo practice ad you will reap massive benefits!

Lycka Till!

I like Klartext even better, which has transcriptions too! I couldn't find the transcriptions for the program you listed. :(

Hey Amuzulo, just click on the title of the news item and it will redirect you to a page where the transcription is available. Klartext is great too, but a bit more challenging in my opinion.

Well I know where I'm going after I finish Swedish on Duolingo now. It seems like it'd be the perfect bridge between finishing Duo but not yet being able to fully understand regular newspapers.

Tack så mycket

The Finnish public broadcaster YLE has had something like that for a long time (in Finnish). I've found it to be invaluable to my Finnish studies, so I'm sure something like this will be very handy for Swedish.
