Les garçons mangent une pomme rouge.

Is there a difference in pronunciation between this and 'le garçon mange une pomme rouge?'

Well, my french native teacher told me what I said, the pronunciation is the same in both cases.

The only words that sound different are le and les like yclept says. Mange and mangent sound the same here.

as yclept said : "les" = "lay" (more or less) wich is different form "le". As for "mange", "mange" and "mangent are prononce the same. (I'm french by the way ;-) )
