Revise in the sense of change or in the British sense of study for an important test?

Yes :)

GPC glosses it as

to review, revise; review (book, play, film, etc.); revise (notes, etc.) for examination, review, hold a review of (troops, etc.).

My gosh, that brings up a question of UK English. Does the Queen "revise" the troops? That is one I have never heard, if she does.

Is this the reason for the "Revision" skills scattered throughout the course? I couldn't figure out what was being changed!

I imagine that is it. We would call them "review." They use the Latin root and we the French, I guess.
