Translation exercises

Hi all -

I found a translation section on here a while back. However, at the time I wanted to finish the tree and become more comfortable with the language. Can someone direct me to that section? I can't locate it now.

Go raibh maith agaibh.

Were you referring to this discussion, which takes advantage of an unsupported Duolingo feature? Or perhaps this one, where an offsite substitute was offered?

Yes, the first one is the one I found before but couldn't seem to get back to. Thanks a lot Scilling.

So for the Irish course there is an Immersion tab, and I'm just on an A/B test and missed out on it?

No one in any of the incubated courses (which includes Irish) has an Immersion tab for such courses.

Are you referring to the very top of the page? Only have "home" "activity" and "Discussion"

Irish does not have an immersion feature like some of the other languages. Hopefully it will eventually get one.

Edit: Other languages also have a "words" tab that they will also hopefully give Irish eventually.

Those sound great, I hope it gets those too. This is the only language course that I've used on Duolingo.

Irish won't get Immersion - Duolingo is not pursuing that approach any more.

I think it's unlikely that any features that aren't available on either the iOS or Android apps will see much additional development on the website. Adding the Words tab to other languages probably wouldn't be terribly challenging, but it looks like it isn't something that Duolingo considers a necessary feature of the Duolingo approach to teaching languages, so it's unlikely to be extended to any new languages.

If duolino isn't pursuing immersion any more then do you know what they are pursuing as a means funding?

I have no connection with Duolingo, except as a satisfied user. I have no idea what their plans are.
