Becoming a beta tester
Hi! I have a feeling that beta-courses are only available to non-native speakers of the target language.
But if they are available to all, I would love to check one out!
I think English-native speakers should be allowed to beta-test the courses for learning English because we can spot problems of grammar and idiom in the English-language content of each course.
For example, having completed my French to English tree, I have seen so many errors in the English content of that otherwise fantastic course. I have identified many of these in the web app and many more via screenshots of the mobile app. (Sorry, email@example.com!)
My hypothesis is that most of these errors survived beta testing because the beta testers lacked enough knowledge of English.
So unleashing English native speakers on a beta course should help clean up the English content of those courses, which will be good for everyone.
Thanks! Not sure what bent people out of shape so much that they clicked the down arrow on this topic. But I appreciate the link. It helped!
That was very nice of you! Lingot for most decidedly untroll-like behavior.
I know this is quite an old thread- did this change in the past three years? I can't seem to find where to start a course in beta.. would love to participate.
I don't think they are marked as beta in the section where you select them... The beta courses are there just along the normal ones if I am not mistaken.
Thanks for the reply. I've been looking at the Czech course, but I can only see it online and the only option is to "be notified when available"
I guess someone else can answer that with more confidence, but as I remember there are several levels for a course where it is not available to everyone but just to contributors or people involved. Maybe get in touch with the contributors and ask them how to join?
