Interesting to see all the similarities Welsh has with Latin, which one wouldn't expect. Cinio is dinner, and cena, in Latin, refers to the evening meal.

The Romans did invade Britain afterall, plenty of Roman roads still in Wales! :)

That's very true. In fact, I may be going to see a Roman settlement thing I'm not really sure in the south of Wales this year, so yay! Also congrats on your 50 day streak!

Haha, thanks! Caerleon are you thinking of, perhaps? Only Roman settlement I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's more!

That because the two languages maybe quite closely related.. There is a scholarly theory that the Celtic languages Irish, Manx, Scots galic, Welsh, Cornish and Breton are more closely related to Latin and its daughter languages like spanish and Italian then any other languages family, and visa versa.

The way i was taught, cinio was dinner and lunch was just generally bwyd.
