Getting in touch with Duolingo staff
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Duolingo officials? I tried the HELP section to no avail.
Hi, could you please include all relevant information in your OP (original post) here? It's just a coincidence that I've read the other comments here. When only reading your OP, people have no idea why you want to get in touch with staff.
Staff is actually very, very busy, so it would be great to know whether you plan to publish your case study or not or whether you just want to know the exact time for yourself. Just edit your OP, include all the relevant information and then we can decide whether we will pass this information to staff or not - because case studies are interesting and valuable =)
I just conducted a 30-day case study comparing Duolingo with our month-long immersion program. Great results for Duolingo. I'm a foreign language professor with expertise in L2 acquisition. I need to find out my total number of hours completed from February 7 to March 7. Would like to share findings with you.
In 2012 Duolingo conducted a study comparing Duolingo Spanish users vs. traditional Spanish 101 students. Duolingo used BYU's webCape as a pre and post-test. In my case study I did the same. In the pre-test on Feb 7 I placed in mid-German 101 (252 points). On March 7 I scored 376 points, only 8 points away from placing into German 201. That's a huge jump in 30 days. Almost 1.5 course increase. I need to know the total number of hours I did on Duolingo German between February 7 and March 7.
Wow! Nice! That's quite an impact. I'm not sure how many hours you spent, (the mods don't knows that, but you can estimate it), but that's really impressive.
A 30-day immersion course in Italy, for example, goes for 120 hours (6 hours per day, five days a week for 4 weeks). At San Diego State a month-long immersion course = a 1 semester course. So, who can I talk to about getting my total number of hours of study between Feb 7 and March 7?
Well, you see, Duolingo studying isn't measured in hours or stuff like that. If you want that info, time yourself and make a daily goal.
