Got together with a native German speaker!

Today I was able to get together with a native German speaker. We cooked some German recipes together and talked in Deutsch. Es macht viel Spaß. We were able to understand each other and hold a conversation. I learned a new German saying, "Schmecker Lecker" it means "yummy tasty"

Hi....great job! Actually, we say "lecker schmecker". That's the meaning for "yum yum".

That's amazing that you were able to arrange that, and even more amazing that you were able to hold a conversation! That's awesome :D

Toll! Das hört sich aber gut an!

Gute Übung für dich auch, kann ich mir vorstellen.

Du würdest sagen: Es hat mir viel Spaß gemacht (perfect tense if talking about the past). Was habt ihr gekocht? Deutsches Essen oder etwas anders?

Ich gratuliere und wünsche dir viel Spaß beim Lernen. Mach weiter so!

:-)

I have a few friends who are fluent German speakers, but am still a bit anxious about attempting conversation! I mainly learning German in order to begin reading theological articles in German. Hilfe!
