[Suggestion] Recommend videos or podcasts for more in-depth language immersion
I love Duolingo and I finished the Spanish tree awhile back. However, I am trying to find ways to bridge the gap between Duolingo exercises and actual fluency in the language. I am trying to read a fantasy novel in Spanish, hoping I would know enough it would catch my interest, but I find I still cannot understand enough to comprehend more than glimpses of the story.
Years ago, when I took a college course in German, they provided a video that had short scenes acted out with natives, such as a family introducing themselves. I would love to see Duolingo implement suggestions of YouTube videos or podcasts, preferably categorized by level (such as beginner, intermediate and advanced) to supplement the exercises and reinforce what is being learned.
Perhaps app recommendations (such as a crossword app that expects simple answers) would help as well.
In the meantime, thank you for all your hard work! I recommend Duolingo to everyone I meet and the school where my mother-in-law works is even using it for their students. I am also eagerly awaiting more incubator updates.
If you use the Discussion forum search bar, you'll find this discussion. There are some really great suggestions in it :)
I'm looking through the discussions, but I'm not finding one talking about adding video and audio links into Duolingo. There is one about translating, but I'm not wanting to translate videos, just have some to watch to improve listening comprehension.
