Isn't "My daughter sleeps now." equivalent to "My daughter is sleeping now." at least on a semantic level of the sentence?
As far as I know, in English present continuous is used to indicate events happening at the moment.

"Моя донька спить зараз." Both English variants "sleeps" and "is sleeping" are accepted now.
Apparently not. I just gave that answer as of April 12, 2019 it is not accepted.
