Hey Duolingers!

I discovered Duolingo a few months ago while looking for a good site to learn a new language and also to pass time. I really wanted to learn Spanish as I love the language and the country.

So, I seriously started using duolingo a month ago and since then I can't stop! Duolingo is really fun and keeps you entertained! I saw some discussions on people who needed to stay motivated but Duolingo itself is motivating. Maybe it needs something fresh and some more features that are suggested by the community but everything from the language tree to earning lingots to hearing the 'correct answer' sound is really motivating and enjoy-full!

I also have my IGCSE's coming up in May so Duolingo is extremely helpful! A big THANK YOU to the staff and creators for making such an amazing website! Duolingo is my new addiction!

yes, it is a tragic thing. It is called 'tolerance'...you need more and more languages the more you learn them. And the side effects are crushing: being able to talk to so many more people and travel to foreign countries will leave you broke and lonely..wait... broke and constantly internationally socializing, that was it. Someone should warn people about the side effects of DL!

I'm not alone! My friends say it's boring... I love it and I'm proud. Such a productive and motivational hobby.

I'd been wanting to study German and Italian for years. Now that I've retired I have been fortunate to find Duo and yes, I too am addicted. But oh what a lovely, safe, healthy addiction. Not only am I enjoying and learning, I get to communicate with so many people from all over the world in an academic, intelligent, gracious community. There's an atmosphere of mutual assistance and respect which is not easily found on the net. And very little on TV can reach the level of Duo. As a teacher for many years I have seen various language teaching methods come and go but cannot recall any as revolutionary and successful as this site. I'm truly grateful to have found Duolingo.
