Translations of English "once"

Saluton!

I was trying to translate some paragraphs of text into Esperanto, and I realized that I have no idea how to translate some of the English uses of "once". Not one time, but like in the example sentences below:

Once you learn Esperanto, you will be able to speak it. What will you do once you get the surgery? Presumably, it once served as a table.

I've scoured the internet and couldn't find anything helpful. The first two might translate to kie, but that feels wrong.

If any of y'all have an answer it would be much appreciated! Also any kind of resources for grammar like this in general would be amazing!

Dankon!

"When" could easily replace those to examples in English so I think it could work the same in Esperanto.

Once you learn Esperanto you will be able to speak it. > Kiam vi lernas Esperanton, vi povos paroli ĝin.

Agreed; that is how I would have said it, too, for the first two sentences.

For the third, I would use iam: "Presumably, it once served as a table": Verŝajne ĝi iam servis kiel tablo.

For the literal meaning, of course, there is unufoje or unu fojon: "I have drunk coffee only once in my life" = Mi trinkis kafon nur unufoje / nur unu fojon en mia vivo. (True fact.) "Knock once before entering" = Frapu unufoje antaŭ el eniri.

Very Esperantesque solution:

Lerninte Esperanton vi kapablos ĝin paroli.

Kion vi faros alveninte al la kuracejo?

Jen mia traduko:

Post kiam oni lernas Esperanton, oni povas paroli ĝin. Kion vi faros post kiam vi havos kirurgion? Supozeble, oni iam uzis ĝin kiel tablon.

"as soon as" "when" "after" "the instant" "the second" "the minute" "the moment" are all alternatives. "When" probably makes the most sense, but the closest thing to "once" is probably "the moment". Or "as soon as". "The moment" is "La momento". "As soon as" is "ekkiam", "tuj de", or "tuj kiam". Ek/kiam = "to begin" + when, so therefore it basically means "as soon as". Tuj de = Immediately of, immediately by, immediately from. Sounds confusing, but to be honest "de" is a slightly confusing word. Several ways to use it. "Tuj kiam" means "immediately when" so literally means as soon as, couldn't be closer to it than that.

Not so many people know but seems you can also use apenaŭ for that too! Apenaŭ ŝia patrino ŝin rimarkis, ŝi kriis al ŝi: “Nu, mia filino?” = Tuj post kiam ŝia patrino ŝin rimarkis (preskaŭ samtempe), ŝi kriis...
