I take a weekly Swedish class, and this week I happened to be the only one who showed up. So the instructor decided I could have a private lesson! We spoke exclusively in Swedish for an hour and a half (simple stuff, like travel and family), and I actually held up my end of the conversation and understood her! Before this I was limited to restaurant orders and saying thank you to people on previous trips to Sweden, so I am very excited that I was able to really speak. A bit proud of myself - I know you guys will understand :D

That's awesome! Congratulations! It's a great feeling when you realize how much you have actually learned and how far you've come in the language. :)

Grattis! Det känns alltid mycket bra när man på riktigt börjar använda språket.

Congrats! For all my life my swedish was limited to bits taken from family trips (my "mormor" was from Malmö): "knäckebröd", "filmjölk", "tack så mycket" and "var så god och kom och ätt". Now thanks to Duolingo I can imagine actually trying to speak swedish with someone one day.
