What doe the / mean?
I'm in the Immersion and try as I might, I do not know what the / means at the end of a given translated sentence. Please help me :)
it means the person who checked your translation is giving you the opportunity to remove the / so your translation again will be on top. This way you will receive credit for the work. It is a nice thing to do, especially if there was just a small edit, and you did most of the work.
Hi, this is I believe a goodwill gesture on the part of someone who has made a small change to one of your translations and leaves the ¨/¨ mark , at the end usually, to enable you to remove it and thereby regain ¨ownership¨ of your work and benefit from potential upvotes that go toward advancing you toward the next level. It is a laudable gesture, considerate and promoting a nice feeling of cooperation. Having said that, and not wanting to underestimate the value of positivity and cooperation in Immersion I wonder how effective it is in its goal of assisting anyone in their progress upward. I am pretty sure the number of upvotes the individual can collect on a given piece of translation is very limited so giving the other person the opportunity to regain the privilege of having their name on it may not count for anything additional if it has already received a couple of upvotes. Upvotes only are of value if the person giving them is at the same or higher translation tier as you and if a third party comes along and makes a change, i.e. edits out the ¨/¨ that will short circuit the good intentions as well. If someone reading this has a better handle on how this particular , fairly recent development is or is not working , I would love to read your comments. Before ending I am aware of a tendency to regard our activities in Immersion to get caught up in the great misconception that it is some kind of race to accumulate points and get ever higher. Let us be cooperative and supportive and let's not lose sight of the goal of developing facility and comprehension to some misdirected sense of competition and false achievement.
That's all awesome, thank you very much, I can better communicate edits now :)
