The Duolingo Compliment-a-Day Challenge
The Duolingo Compliment-a-Day Challenge [DCaDC] is meant to encourage language learners to meet each other and brighten their Activity feeds.
How do I join?
You can join this challenge whenever you want, but the goal is to send a positive message to as many people as possible. If you would like, leave some sort of reference to The DCaDC and invite them to join in on the fun.
What is this for?
For fun, mostly! The more that you participate in the challenge, the more likely you are to meet other Duolingo users you can talk to. It's also great for people (like me) who want to keep their streak going but are motivated mostly by talking with others.
Tips and Notes
- Try to send messages to a wide range of people, but don't be discouraged if another user has already complimented the person you have picked.
- Write in any language that you prefer.
Feel free to ask any questions about this challenge.
What a fantastic idea! Kyara, this challenge will put us in a positive, grateful state of mind day after day, and help bring the community together as one big team!
Thank you so much for your creative efforts with this. You have already made a difference in the lives of others, and now other people can join in on the fun as well!
I'm in! Now I need to learn to write creatively so that I'm not writing the same message on everybody's streams.... :-D
you as an INFJ is like OMG SO CUTE and like OMG SO KIND (especially with that cute mini vid of Duo!), So IM IN KYARA, how do I join? and heres a lingot for such cuteness!
Thanks for the Lingot! Just pick a user and write on their user page a compliment. Tomorrow, pick a different user. Keep this up for as long as you want. The goal is to meet other learners and make the discussion boards/activity feeds positive! :)
I adore the gif! Thank you for brining up this challenge. I'm sure it'll bring wonderful smiles upon many faces!
It's an idea who's time has come! A great way to build a sense of community! My hat is off to you, Kyara!!!
Go to anyone's profile by clicking on their name, and you can see their activities and post on their feed. Alternately, go to 'Activity' at the top to see the activities of you and all those you are following.
Most people do. Some users have an A/B Test where no Activity Streams show for them, including their own.
Birdwatcher here, I love the video of burrowing owl. Kinda looks like a pigmy. I'm trilingual. However my Spanish is rough right now, reason I'm using Duo. I'd love to do challenge but I'm so involved with my periscope church right now. I would encourage anyone here to check out Dr. Walter Sims on Periscope. He is pastor of the First Church of Periscope International (FCOP). We have members around the world. There are scopes daily, 3 or more staring at 7:30 am CST. God bless you everyone.
