Duolingo's Smartphone app is vastly inferior to their fantastic web browser version: Don't use it!

Wow just discovered that the Duolingo smartphone app is vastly inferior to duolingo.com used on a web browser like Safari. Browser version has a whole grammatical lesson of tips and notes with every lesson. Highly recommend using the browser on your phone instead of the app!

I think there are prenty of people that only use Doulingo app, and I guess no one of them will ever get to this discussion...

...and everyone who reads this is using the browser version

Agreed! This also applies to the Android app that I use on my tablet. I do use it when I'm not at my main computer but I try to get to the main computer everyday to see discussions and other things that I'm missing on the Android app.

I am completely starting again using my computer instead. Just using the app before, I was just guessing all the answers because the app has absolutely no introduction or explanation of the lesson before you do it.

The app is also much "simpler". The questions are easier, and usually tapping the correct answers multiple choice style. Its great if you feel lazy one day and don't want to lose your streak. But generally I try to use the website every day, i learn much more that way.

I use both. I read the tips and notes on the browser version. Every time I recommend Duolingo I explain this as well.

Yes reading the notes and tips is absolutely essential. I am completely starting again using my computer instead. Just using the app before, I was just guessing all the answers because the app has absolutely no introduction or explanation of the lesson before you do it.

Someone in the discussions forum was mentioning that there is an A/B test out there that may affect the tips & notes sections (The Duo staff is not convinced that Tips and Notes is essential.)
