Icelandic for english speakers

I'm very eager to have an Icelandic course available here.

I am Icelandic and would happily contribute my time and skills to help make this happen, but not sure what to do about it...

I submitted an expression of interested a while back but never heard back, and can't seem to find a route to do this again or any email address to contact someone to ask where this is at/ie. if we're far off

Thought I'd start this thread to get responses from people interested in learning Icelandic or contributing to the creation of the course

Go!

In my experience, for a course to enter the incubator requires quite a number of things to line up. Both with the offer of resources offered by the community, as well as within Duolingo.

However you can improve the display of the resources available from the community - by also finding others that are frequent users of Duolingo, and have the skills required that could assist the development of this language course, and that you all get on well together.
Also you could start to create some useful discussions on the desired language - creating not just interest within the community - but to be actual resources that can be used to assist in the learning of this target language.

You can get some ideas of how and what to post by observing also what others have posted.
For example emergencies , or about the alphabet, or other resources for learning this language.

Please feel free to also contact myself for idea, or assistance for formatting information.

Wishing you continued success in getting this language course up and going !

I don't see your point,do you mean that for a course to be accepted we have to offer different resources apart from Duolingo?resources for learning the language?like courses,videos....?

You can apply at https://incubator.duolingo.com/apply but they may not answer immediately as they usually wait until they are ready to introduce it into the incubator.

Þakka þér Auður! I'd love to see an Icelandic course here in Duolingo. Though I'm afraid I can't help building the course you have my total support. In order to get to build the course the best thing is to organise a team unofficially, create maybe a facebook page/group and start planning the course until we convince Duolingo's staff to officially start it.
