Annual fee for membership
I am unable to determine whether or not I am going to be continually charged for my 2-year membership. I do not want a recurring charge on my credit card every 2 years. Is there a customer service telephone number I can contact?
The site's free. I've used it for more than four years. You don't have to pay anything. If you are paying something, you're being scammed.

I was charged for a 2-year membership more than 2 years ago. I don't remember the exact amount but it seems to me it was around $100, which was supposed to offer more options for learning. After the initial 2 year term, another 2-year charge was automatically charged to my credit card. I decided then to cancel my Duolingo account because I was worried they would continue to process this charge every 2 years. I can now still access my account but am not sure if this charge is going to happen again.
Then you need to report the fraud to the police and instruct your credit card provider that you do not authorise any further debits.
You might also consider directly contacting duolingo staff, because I am quite sure they do not appreciate being used for some scam. One of the main points of duolingo is offering language courses for free.

This charge definitely wouldn't have come from Duolingo. Please look for an email from our team as we investigate - very sorry this has happened to you !
Most likely you signed up with "Rosetta Stone", which is a completely different language-learning website. Unlike "Rosetta Stone", "Duolingo" is free.

I now realize the 2-year subscription I was concerned about was with Busuu.
I have since cancelled this automatic subscription renewal.
My apologies to Duolingo, which is a wonderful learning site.
